Ever since I was a child I have always lived in a bilingual environment and I have always been interested in and fascinated by languages. For this reason, I decided to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpretation at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from English and German to Spanish and Catalan.

Once I finished my degree, after having taken part in an Erasmus program in Edinburgh, I decided to go back to school and specialize in new technologies because of their importance in the translation world. That is why I enrolled in the Master’s program in Translation and New Technologies (Máster en Tradumática) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

Thanks to this Master’s degree in Translation I have had the opportunity to participate in two internships which have allowed me to gain experience in the translation world while practicing my professionalism. From September 2012 to March 2013, I worked as an assistant project manager at Intertext Traducción y Documentación Multilingüe, S.L. The main tasks I carried out in this firm were translations (EN>ES ES>CA), alignments with Trados WinAlign, preparation of files for translation, formatting, copy editing, as well as quality assurance and vendor management.

In March 2013 I began a new internship at iDISC Information Technologies, where I worked on marketing translation projects and localization of web content and applications. This experience provided me with in depth knowledge of several computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools such as Wordfast, Trados, LocStudio, MemoQ, etc. as well as specific localization terminology.

In October 2013 I began to work as a freelancer and since then I have been offering my services as a translator and localizator for agencies of this industry.
